Message of the Day: There Is No Source Of Comfort Except In God Alone
If I say, “My foot slips,” Your mercy, O Lord, will hold me up. In the multitude of my anxieties within me, Your comforts delight my soul.” (Psalm 94:18-19, NKJV)
The psalmist is saying in general terms that, if at any time his strength is gone and then God in his mercy will intervene and will keep him from falling.

In specific terms, the psalmist is tired of the oppression caused by the proud and the wicked, whose brutality has crushed the poor and the helpless. They thought God is not aware of their evil deeds. They forgot that God sees everything. He knows what they are and what they do. He knows when to intervene and punish them and bring relief to their victims.
But while the victims await that day of vengeance, they have no strength to fight the wickedness of their oppressors and their only source of comfort is God alone.
How many times have we gone through this experience, times when we felt our strength was almost gone and we are about to sink, our mind is filled with anxieties and a little bit more pressure would have caused us to fall, then God by his mercy intervened and saved us.
God is our only source of comfort and strength. In every desperate situation, when we are too weak to fight, God is there, he intervenes, he comforts, and gives us new life.
