Message of the Day: Prepare A Child For The Experiences He will Face In Life
“Train up a child in the way he should go, Even when he is old he will not depart from it.” (Psalm 22:6, NASB)
The Hebrew word for ‘train’ means “dedicate”, that is, “Dedicate your child to God; and nourish, teach and discipline him as God’s child, whom he has entrusted to your care. Instruction and discipline (22:15) are primarily involved here.
Wise people will behave with caution and humility. They will bring up their children in the manner that prepares them for the experiences in life. So when they come to the start of their own life, they will be able to stand on their feet and will know how to conduct themselves in every step they take.
They will show them the duties, the dangers and the blessings of the path; give them directions how to dispense their responsibilities, how to escape the dangers, and how to secure all the blessings in store for them.
Habitual training secures habitual walking in it. There may be times when they will go astray but the training they received will always help them find their way back to the path selected for them, “they will not depart from it!
