God had formed Israel as a nation for himself. Israel had been consistently disobedient. Still, they were God’s nation, and through all their disobedience and sufferings God would work to demonstrate to all the world that He, and He alone is God.

Israel’s history is a concrete proof that when God made a promise or prediction He will surely fulfill it. We are witnesses of His faithfulness and steadfastness. Therefore, we can fully entrust to Him not just our present but our future as well.
