God is most concerned not with offering of animal sacrifices, but the offering of their lives; not the mere performance of rituals but the willing performance of God’s will.

God wants believers to open their ears to hear his instruction, then to carry it out willingly and joyfully. He wants believers to go beyond external, display of worship and obedience. He looks at the obedience that proceeded from the heart.
