Message of the Day: We Were Chosen and Called from Darkness to Light To Proclaim the Mercies of God

But you are chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, his own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.” (1 Peter 2:9, NKJV)

Israel was called God’s chosen people in the Old Testament, so in the New Testament believers are designated as chosen, or elect. Though once not the people of God, they are now the recipients of God’s mercy.

Believers are God’s people regardless of race. We pass from darkness into light, we have received mercy. In relation to this, we have a task to do, we have to tell others about the great and merciful acts of God (v. 10).
