Message of the Day: Disciplined Thoughts and Behavior are Signs of Preparedness for Christ’s Return!
“Therefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and rest your hope fully upon the grace that is to be brought to you at the revelation of Christ.” (1 Peter 1:13, NKJV)
These words are a graphic call for action. In the first century setting it means they should literally gather up their long, flowing garments and be ready for physical action. In the later part of this epistle, Peter clarifies that his major purpose is to encourage and testify regarding the true grace of God. That is, the final state of complete blessedness and deliverance from sin.
The message therefore is, now that we are saved, we should discipline our thoughts and behavior so that we will always be ready for the return of Jesus Christ when finally, we will fully experience God’s grace.
