Message of the Day: We Are Comforted by God So We Can Comfort Others!
“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God. (2 Corinthians 1:3-4, NKJV)
The apostle Paul greets the believers in Corinth together with other Christians in Achaia, in the name of the God of all comfort. The word comfort (comforts, comforted) is mentioned five times in these two verses, which indicates its significance.
One reason why we suffer all kinds of troubles is that we may know how to sympathize with and help others who are similarly troubled.
Just as we share in Christ’s sufferings, so we can share in his comfort.
