Message of the Day: Fix Our Eyes On Jesus

“…looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.” (Hebrews 12:2, NKJV)

Surrounded by a cloud of witness crowd those who, had run their race for God triumphantly and who were now cheering with breathless interest at the initial struggles of the newborn church, the runners are urged to keep their eyes on the goal and to strain every nerve and muscle to win.

We are encouraged to face our difficulties with the same perseverance as those who had run ahead of us, get rid of the sins that so entangle us, and consider the sufferings that Jesus endured and the heavenly reward that he now enjoys. Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, our “chief leader,” and “completer” of our faith.
