Message of the Day: Christ Is Our Priest Forever
“Therefore He is also able to save to the uttermost those who come to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them.” (Hebrews 7:25, NKJV)
The issue here is the priests’ mortality. The word “guarantee” (NASB, TEV) or “surety” (KJV) in v. 22 was used in business documents for a deposit, a security guaranteeing that one would fulfill one’s obligation, or someone who made such a guarantee.

The Levitical priesthood was not permanent unlike Christ’s priesthood. It is guaranteed by the oath of God. He is not like the levitical priests, who needed another priest to replace them when they died. Christ lives as a priest forever, bringing people to God and giving them God’s saving help (Hebrews 7:22-25).
