Message of the Day: True Wisdom is the Wisdom of Peace not of Violence!
“But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, willing to yield, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality and without hypocrisy. 18 Now the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace.” (James 3:17-18, NKJV)
We should distinguish between spiritual wisdom and worldly wisdom. Some people are good in making plans and utilizing circumstances to achieve their goals, but their actions most of the times are characterized by jealousy, selfishness and dishonesty. All of these are worldly wisdom. It comes not from God but from the devil, and results in wrong actions. It contrasts sharply with spiritual wisdom, which is characterized by humility and uprightness (3:13-16).
Wisdom from God is pure, not hypocritical, nonviolent or peaceable, gentle, open to reason, full of mercy, and impartial. If we have this type of wisdom we will consider the well-being of others before our own. We will be free of any trace of deceit or dishonesty. The farmer who sows good seed can expect a good harvest. In the same way, we who sow peace by building good relations with others can expect to see a harvest of righteousness in our lives. True wisdom is the wisdom of peace not of violence.
