Message of the Day: Please Others For Their Benefit. Christ Is Our Example!
“Let each of us please his neighbor for his good, leading to edification.” (Romans 15:2, NKJV)
Writers in the time of Paul commonly used examples to drive their points. Opponents do not usually challenge the example of a righteous teacher. Paul used the same argument with the ultimate and indisputable example for Christians – Christ.
Christ came to do the will of the Father, not his own. he did not please Himself but voluntarily bore the sins of others.

If you are strong you must be sympathetic to those who are weak and not act to please yourself. Christ is our perfect example, he acted out of consideration for others, no matter what it cost him. Let this be our principle for each of us to follow in all our capacity to please other people and our fellow believers in Christ. We should do things for their edification not to please them just for popular favors but for their benefit.
