Message of the Day: Get Along With One Another.
“Be kindly affectionate to one another with brotherly love, in honor giving preference to one another…” (Romans 12:10, NKJV)
In verse 9 Paul speaks of “love” which pertains to love for fellow Christians and probably also for fellowmen. A love that is true and without pretense. Context also shows that this love is more than just mere emotion but a dynamic love. In verse 10, he speaks of “brotherly love” or love within the family of God. Paul’s point here is that Christians should get along well with one another – an exhortation that applies to most of his letters.
We are exhorted to be sincere and straightforward in everything we do. We must in particular have a loving care for our fellow believers, having their best interest in mind. In order to do this, we must consider them as more important then ourselves (Phil. 2:3). This easier said then done, only a mind renewed by the Spirit (v.2) could possibly fathom and accomplish such an exhortation.
Let us work for the welfare of others, strive to show mutual respect, honor and kindness. Above all, let us promote the happiness of our faith communities!
