Message of the Day: Increased Danger Drives One to An Increased Dependence on God!
“In God (I will praise His word),
In God I have put my trust;
I will not fear.
What can flesh do to me?” (Psalm 56:4, NKJV)
Psalm 56:1-57:11 both belong to the period when David fled from Saul. He first sought refuge in the city of Gath, then to the cave of Adullam.
In Gath he suffered a great distress after learning that certain people in the city are plotting to kill him. That increased sense of danger led to his increased dependence on God. Enemies watch his every move, planning how they can best ambush him. He was so tense with fear that he cannot sleep at night.
Today, some of us suffer the same tension and fear due to the pandemic. May this passage remind us that God always takes notice of our distress. He will protect us. Let us put our trust in him and not fear!
