Message of the Day: Blessed Assurance!

So Christ was offered once to bear the sins of many. To those who eagerly wait for Him He will appear a second time, apart from sin, for salvation.” (Hebrews 9:28, NKJV)

Sacrifices offered in the Old Testament were part of a material order and brought symbolic cleansing. The death of Christ is concerned with spiritual order and brings real cleansing.

The ceremony of entering the symbolic presence of God with the blood of a sacrificial animal done by the Levitical high priest had to be repeated annually. Christ entered the actual presence of God on account of his own blood, only once! His sacrifice is sufficient to completely remove the sins of the world past, present and future.

Human beings die once and face judgment. Christ died once and gained eternal salvation for those who trust in him. By his death we are forgiven, our sins are taken away. We will enjoy the fulness of our salvation when Christ reappears, coming out of the heavenly tabernacle to be with us forever.

This is our blessed assurance: Final and complete salvation in the Second Coming of Christ!
