Message of the Day: God is on the Side of the Poor and the Afflicted.

Sing to God, sing praises to His name;
Extol Him who rides on the clouds,
By His name Yah,
And rejoice before Him.
” (Psalm 68:4, NKJV)

Psalm 68 is a battle march of God’s victorious armies. A magnificent hymn of praise and triumph. This psalm was probably written for some special occasion. It may have been the occasion on which David brought the ark to Jerusalem but its language makes the psalm suitable for much wider use. This psalm has been the favorite of many in times of persecution.

When God fights for us, our enemies are as helpless before us as smoke before wind or wax before fire. Nothing can stop him as rides out to do battle. God is on the side of the poor, the afflicted and the downtrodden, but he opposes those who rebel against him. (Psalm 68:1-6).

The light of God’s power and love shines through the darkness to teach and comfort us.
