Message of the Day: Prepare for the Worst!

For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it.” (Matthew 16:25, NKJV)

Immediately after telling his disciples of his coming suffering and death, Jesus told them they had to be prepared for similar treatment. The cross was an instrument of violent and painful execution. Jesus describes what his followers must be ready for: if they follow him, they must be ready to face literal scorn and death, for we must follow to the Cross.

Whatever we lose in this world because of our devotion to Christ and his cause, we shall have amply made up to him in the eternal world. If we are bent on saving our life we will lose it. Jesus gave his life for us, he suffered and died. Now, let us ask ourselves, “What if we suffer the same fate? Well, we may not, but as followers of Jesus we must be prepared for the worst!
