Message of the Day: Faith Defined!
“Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” (Hebrews 11:1,NKJV)

In chapter 11, the author asserted that people must join faith to perseverance of they are to enjoy the thing hoped for. In this chapter he defines faith as the assurance or confirmation of the things that the believer hopes for, as proof of things that the believer has not yet seen. Believers, living by faith, can rest confidently that God’s promises will be fulfilled—that their fulfillment is in fact a reality in their lives before it becomes manifest to the believer’s senses.
If people have faith, it means they believe that things hoped for according to God’s promises will be achieved and that unseen powers of God are real. Those with with look beyond what they see. They know that they cannot explain the existence of the world solely by reasoning from the things that can be seen. (Hebrews 11:1-3)
