Message of the Day: We Are No Longer Under the Law, We Are United in Christ
Text: Romans 8:1-11
Key Verse: Romans 8:1
“There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.” (NKJV)

As in Galatians, Paul contrasts the flesh and the Spirit in Romans chapter 8. The spirit of Christ empowers believers to conquer the sinful urge, assures them of salvation, will someday glorify them, and in the meantime prays for them.
The law brings condemnation because it points out, stimulates, and condemns sin. As sinners we deserved condemnation in our unregenerate state in spite of the struggle. But God offers pardon “to those in Christ Jesus.” If we humbly avail of this offer we will be no longer be “under the law,” we shall be united with Christ. We can have victory over sin through Christ. The power of the indwelling Spirit of Christ is greater than the power of the old sinful nature.
