Message of the Day: Show Love and Kindness To All
“Finally, all of you be of one mind, having compassion for one another; love as brothers, be tenderhearted, be courteous…” (1 Peter 3:8, NKJV)
In 1 Peter 2:11-17 Peter addressed all his readers and in 2:18-25 he spoke directly to slaves; in 3:1-6 he addressed wives, and in 3:7, husbands. Now he encourages all his readers to develop virtues appropriate in their relations with others.
To be of “one mind” is to be like-minded or harmonious, to have compassion is to be sympathetic or kindhearted (tenderhearted), love people like brothers, and to be courteous is to be humble.
Believers must have consideration for one another. They must show love and kindness to all, even to those whom they find had to like. Only as they act towards one another in love will they obtain the blessing that God desires for them.
