Message of the Day: Our Love Must Show Itself By Self-Sacrifice Just As Christ Did
“Therefore be imitators of God as dear children.” (Ephesians 5:, NKJV)

Sonship infers an absolute necessity of imitation, it is useless to assume the title of son without any likeness of the Father.
One way of imitating God is to have a forgiving spirit. The way we imitate our Lord is to act “just as” he did. The sacrificial way Jesus expressed his love for us is not only the means of salvation but also an example of the way we are to live for the sake of others.
Just as children follow the example of their parents, so Christians must follow the example of our heavenly Father. Our love, then, will not be mere words, but will show itself by self-sacrifice, just as Christ’s love did.
