Text: Ephesian 4:29-32
Key Verse: Ephesians 4:29
“Let no corrupt word proceed out of your mouth, but what is good for necessary edification, that it may impart grace to the hearers.” (NKJV)

The uncontrolled tongue, as much as any of the other bad habits listed here, saddens God’s Holy Spirit. Therefore, bad habits of speech, especially in being angry with or talking about others. The lives of the Christians should be characterized by love, kindness, compassion, understanding and forgiveness.
Here, we are encouraged to speak gracious, uplifting words. The Christian not only stops saying unwholesome things; he also begins to say things that will help build others up. Let our conversion be pure, wise, and holy, that it may be the means of conveying grace, to those that hear. Let us endeavor to edify those with whom we converse; and if it is possible, speak so as to please them.
