Message of the Day: There is No One who Can Deliver us But God

I, even I, am the Lord,
And besides Me there is no savior.
I have declared and saved,
I have proclaimed,
And there was no foreign god among you;
Therefore you are My witnesses,”
Says the Lord, “that I am God.
(Isaiah 43:11-12, NKJV)

God had formed the nation for Himself. The nation had been consistently disobedient. Still, they were God’s nation, and through all their sins and sufferings God would work to demonstrate to all the world that He, and He alone, is God.

Despite Israel’s failure and subsequent punishment, God has not cast off his people for ever. God used the power of foreign nations to enslave them and bring sufferings and hardships upon them, but he will now destroy the power of those nations. He will make them pay the ransom price for the redemption of captive Israel. They will fall so that Israel can go free. wherever the captives are, they are still God’s people, and he will bring them back to their land.

God challenges the nations to meet him in court to see who controls the history of the world, Yahweh or the gods of the nations. If they can prove that their gods have knowledge of past events or can predict future events, they are invited to bring these gods with them to court, along with any other witnesses they can find to support their claims. As for Yahweh, his sole witness will be Israel. The history of Israel proves that God’s prediction always come true and that he is the only God. People can therefore be assured that when he predicts Israel’s release and return to its land, this prediction also will come true.

There is no one who can deliver us from hardships and trials; there is no one but God who can save us from sin, and from hell. All salvation come from him; and if we obtain deliverance from sicknesses or afflictions, even eternal death, we must seek it from him.

On the other hand, God may appeal to his dealings with his people as a demonstration that he is the true God, and that he is faithful and able to deliver – an appeal which may be made to believers at large in view of their trials, persecutions, and deliverances; and to every one who is his true friend and worshipper.
