Message of the Day: Be Generous and Do Good to All People

Text: Galatians 6:6-10

Let him who is taught the word share in all good things with him who teaches. Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap. For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life. And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart. Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all, especially to those who are of the household of faith.” (NKJV)

Key Verse: Galatians 6:10

Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all, especially to those who are of the household of faith.” (NKJV)

When we live by the Spirit’s power, we will want to be of spiritual help to others. We will not be harshly critical when we see other believers caught in wrongdoing, but will feel the sorrow of others as if it were our own. We will remember how easily that anyone can be overcome by temptation. People are foolish when they compare themselves with others in order to feel satisfied about their own spirituality. Each person is answerable to God for his or her own behavior, regardless of what other people may have done.

We must help support financially those who teach us. We should not deceive ourselves in this matter. Christians, like farmers, reap what they sow. If we live to please ourselves according to our natural desires, in the end we will reap the fruit of all natural desires, which is disappointment and death.

On the other hand, if we put God’s affairs before our own, our lives will produce qualities of eternal value. This is the season for sowing, not reaping. By untiringly helping others, whether financially or otherwise, we guarantee for ourselves future reward of lasting worth.

There is a special emphasis however, to the household of God. As we have occasion at anytime, let us keep on doing good deeds to all people especially to those who belong to the family of God. That is, those whom faith has made them members of the house or family of God.
