Message of the Day: Pray to See Wonders In God’s Word!

Open my eyes, that I may see
Wondrous things from Your law
.” (Psalm 119:18, NKJV)

The psalmist knows that if he has this desire to be guided by God’s word, his life will be full of purpose and meaning. Though he may be unsure of his future.

There are deep secret things in the word of God which are not perceived by the natural man. Man by nature is spiritually blind. This spiritual blindness is the effect of sin and is universal. It exposes man to danger. The removal of this spiritual blindness will enable man to see the truth of God’s word. It will excite wonder and fill his mind with admiring views of God. He is brought into a new sphere and new world.

We see here the importance of prayer because the proper illumination or understanding of these deep secret things is connected with prayer, and can be hoped for only in answer to prayer. So we pray to God to take away the veil that is on our heart, so we will see wonders in his word.
