Message of the Day: In Christ We Live As Free Adults in God’s Family
“But when the fullness of the time had come, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the law, to redeem those who were under the law, that we might receive the adoption as sons.” (Galatians 4:4-5, NKJV)
Those who were previously under the law were like children receiving instruction. The law made people keenly aware of their inability to make themselves righteous. Under law therefore, was like being minors or slaves. But Christ came and fulfilled the law’s requirements, so that those under it’s control could be released to enjoy their inheritance as adult sons of God.
The “fulness of time” is the time which had been predicted, and when it was proper that he should come, was complete. It is the time set by God for his children to become adult sons and heirs.
In Christ we live as free adults, adopted into God’s family as sons and heirs with grown-up privileges and responsibilities.
