Message of the Day: Jesus’ Kingdom Shall Never Have An End!
“Then the angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God. And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bring forth a Son, and shall call His name Jesus. He will be great, and will be called the Son of the Highest; and the Lord God will give Him the throne of His father David.” (Luke 1:30-32, NKJV)
Mary was startled and puzzled when the angel told her that, though still a virgin, she would give birth to a son, and this son would be the promised Messiah. He would be in a unique sense God’s Son and his kingdom would be eternal. The angel told her not to be alarmed for he only comes to announce to her good tidings.
Jesus, the Messiah shall be distinguished or illustrious; great in power, in wisdom and dominion on earth and in heaven. He shall be called the Highest because He is exalted over all his creatures.
Jesus was the fulfillment of the promise to David that his throne will be forever. That is, there should not fail a man to sit on his throne. Jesus fulfilled it by being exalted to be the Prince, Savior, and the perpetual King of his people.
As such, Christ’s kingdom shall be eternal. Revolutions may destroy the kingdoms of the earth, but the powers and gates of hell and death shall never be able to destroy or injure the kingdom of Christ. His is the only dominion that shall never have an end.
