Message of the Day: Jesus’ Beautiful, Comforting and Tender Words!
“Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me.” (John 14:1, NKJV)

After having answered Peter’s question in John 13:36-38, he addresses himself again to his disciples. The disciples by now surely knew that Jesus was soon to die. They were troubled that they were about to part with their beloved, tender friend. They were to be left alone to meet persecutions and trials. They were without wealth, without friends, without honor.
He therefore comforted them by telling them not to be troubled nor to lose courage at his leaving them. He said he was going to his Father to prepare a permanent dwelling place for them, and one day he would return to take them to be with him for ever. He had told them often enough that if they followed him as loyal followers, they would share in his final victory.
Christ promises them a spiritual and heavenly inheritance, and thus lifts up their drooping hearts. There is nowhere to be found a discourse so beautiful and so comforting, and so tender as that which occurs in this passage.
Our consolation was to be found in our confidence in God and in his son, Jesus Christ. We ought to have faith in him.
