Message of the Day: Faith Is Not Slavery or Oppression. It Is True Freedom!
Then Jesus said to those Jews who believed Him, “If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed. And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” (John 8:31-32, NKJV)

The only one who could free us is God acting through his Son Jesus.
It is not enough to receive God’s truth – we must retain and walk in it, that is, we continue to obey God’s commandments. And it is only when we receive the truth, love it, keep it, and walk in it, that we become genuine disciples of Christ.
No man is truly free, but he in whose heart the power of sin is destroyed, and who has received the Spirit of adoption, through which he cries Abba! Father! The bondage of sin is the most grievous bondage; and freedom from its guilt and influence is the greatest liberty.
Truth here is not philosophical but the truth that leads to salvation. Christ came to break the bondage of sin and to set us free. Faith is not slavery or oppression. It is true freedom! It is a cheerful and delightful surrender of ourselves to God!
