Message of the Day: Persistent Prayer
“Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened.” (Matthew 7:7-8, NKJV)

Jesus gave two illustrations to show his followers that they can put their requests to God confidently. Even a tired and uncooperative neighbor can be persuaded by a person’s persistence into giving him what he needs. How much more will God, who is a loving Father, supply all the needs of his children.
The words “asks“, “seeks“, “knocks” indicate constant asking, seeking and knocking. Persistent prayer is being emphasized.
We do not beg from a God who is unwilling to give. We go to God as children go to their father, confident that he will not disappoint them or give them less than they ask. God is better and kinder than the most tender earthly parents; and with what confidence, therefore, may we come as his children, and ask what we need!
