Message of the Day: Humility, Gentleness, and Mutual Support!
“…with all lowliness and gentleness, with longsuffering, bearing with one another in love…” (Ephesians 4:2, NKJV)
Paul talks about the church as a complex organism, with many parts, each in its own place and with its own function, working together in harmony. Its basic principle is love (v. 16), while Christ Himself is its head and directive force. The fundamental requisite for the proper functioning of the body of Christ, which is composed of many members of diverse talents and tempers, is a spirit of humility, gentleness, and mutual support on the part of the members (v.2).
God’s great purposes for us should produce a new quality in our lives. The blessings that God gives should not lead us to pride. On the contrary, when we see that these blessings are an indication of the standard God expects, we will develop humility. When we people or circumstances annoy us and try our patience, we will show love by being patient and helpful.
Through the love of God working in our hearts, we should bear with each others infirmities, sustaining one another, helping to support each other in all the miseries of life.
