Message of the Day: A Commitment to Love One Another
“Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. No one has seen God at any time. If we love one another, God abides in us, and His love has been perfected in us.” (1 John 4:11-12, NKJV)
One’s character shows one’s descent; those who show godly character are God’s children, and God’s supreme character is his love. However, even Christians’ love had to be perfected, and the best way to do this is to remain within our community of faith and maintain a commitment to love one another including those who are lowly and unworthy.
Since our love has its source in God’s love, His love reaches full expression when we love each other. People cannot see God, but they can see that he lives within Christians when they practise his love. The show most clearly when they love those who do not deserve. Thus the God whom “no one has seen” is seen in those who love, because God lives in them.
