Message of the Day: God Alone Can Satisfy Our Desire and Wishes!
“Whom have I in heaven but You?
And there is none upon earth that I desire besides You.
My flesh and my heart fail;
But God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.” (Psalm 73:25-26, NKJV)

Psalm 73 is ascribed to Asaph, leader of one of David’s Levitical choirs. It begins a collection of 11 Asaphite psalms (73-83). The Asaphite psalms are dominated by the theme of God’s rule over his people and the nations.
Looking back, Asaph now sees how foolish he has been to doubt God when he thought that the wicked enjoyed lives of ease and plenty, then died peacefully without suffering. (Psalm 73:4-20) Although he has acted like an ignorant animal, the everlasting God has not left him. Asaph sees now that in God he has riches and pleasures that are permanent and beyond value. They are far greater than the temporary riches and pleasures of the ungodly.
After all our complaining and doubts there is no one who can take the place of God in our lives. We find our supreme happiness in him. When all our mind and body fail; when we are exhausted, the love of God survives, we find strength and joy in him. God is our sufficient refuge! He alone can satisfy our desire and wishes.
