Message of the Day: Christ Lives In US!
“I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.” (Galatians 2:20, NKJV)
The law cannot bring life; it can only condemn to death all who have broken it. Christ took this punishment for sinners by his death on the cross. When sinners turn to Jesus Christ in faith they are removed from the law’s power (for the law can have no power over those who are now ‘dead’), and given new life, the life of Christ. Having been saved by faith without the law, they now live by faith without the law. The conclusion is that if sinners can be justified by law, Christ need not have died. (Gal. 2:19-21)
The death of Christ on the cross has showed us that there is no hope of salvation by the law; we are therefore as truly dead to all expectation of justification by the law, as Christ was dead when he gave up his spirit upon the cross. Through him alone we live, enjoy life, and have a prospect of future glory, he lives in us!
