Message of the Day: Prayer is the Language of Dependence on God
“Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him.” (1 John 5:14-15, NKJV)
When Christians know with assurance that God has accepted them and given them eternal life, they will have confidence to come to him with their requests. First, however, they must consider God’s will, and to make requests from wrong motives. Then they can be assured that God will hear and answer their prayers.
Prayer is the language of dependence on God. We speak this language because we are his children. Faith and prayer are not boldly to advance our claims upon God, we must make sure that what we ask is in accordance with his will. God provides whatever we ask in prayer, when it its needful.
