Message of the Day: Healing and Efficacy of Prayer

Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.” (James 5:16, NKJV)

When we are going though times of trouble, we should not complain or swear, but pray. When we are happy we should not act foolishly, but sing. We should realize the power that is available to us through prayer. If we are sick we may ask the elders to pray for us. If we are sick, and are conscious that we have injured any persons, to make confession, in connection with prayer, would be an important means of restoration to health.

If we confess our faults to each other, we can pray more intelligently for each other’s needs, and by doing so, we can maintain among ourselves the fellowship that we have as brothers and sisters. Ultimately, the success of our prayer does not depend on our talent, education, wealth, profession, or status in society, but because we are righteous, that is, good persons and are fervent in praying.
