Message of the Day: “Guard your heart above all else, for it determines the course of your life.” (Proverbs 4:23, NLT)
More than anything else, one should get wisdom and insight. The first step in getting wisdom is the desire for it. Once obtained, wisdom will bring into the life of the possessor a new measure of security, honour and beauty.
By living according to God’s wisdom, we will have true wisdom, and at the same time will be morally upright. We will not join in the evil deeds of those whose thoughts and actions are governed by the desire to do wrong. The more we do right, the better we will understand life; the more we do wrong, the more confused our understanding becomes. Consequently, our mistakes become more frequent and more disastrous. We must keep our heart and mind, our whole inner person, in a state of moral and spiritual good health. (Proverbs 4:1-23)
The King James Bible renders, “Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.” It is indeed imperative that we keep our hearts “with all diligence” because it is the depository of all wisdom and the source of whatever affects life and character.
